DEPRESSION

Though the sun is bright and shining
Dark gray clouds shadow over
Lightning strikes out
Thunder explodes
The storm is just beginning
Wild furious wind
Whips the rain against
The window of the soul
Curled up tight in a ball
Buried beneath blankets and pillows
Feelings of emptiness, loneliness,
Frustration, confusion, depression
Weave themselves in and out
Weighing the spirit low
Waiting, hoping, pleading
For a glimmer of light
A reason for living
The shed itself again.
